Shannon Krugel - Antigo
Teachers Name: Mrs. Pam Siudak
School: Peace Lutheran School Antigo
Mrs. Siudak has been an angel to my family. I cannot think of a simpler way to express the heartfelt gratitude that my family feels for her. Since my son Kaidin was enrolled as a student in her pre-school class last year, Mrs. Siudak has become an integral part of our family's life. When my family went through some very difficult personal issues last summer, Mrs. Siudak was the first person to call and to stay in constant contact with my son, recognizing the fact that although the issues were difficult in the "adult world", the needs of an innocent child were far more important. My son was fortunate enough to be enrolled as a student in Mrs. Siudak's kindergarten class again this year. In October, he underwent major surgery on both of his feet at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Following the surgery, he was in casts on both legs for 9 weeks, and required additional surgery. Once the casts were removed, Kaidin basically had to learn to walk again and was in a wheelchair for several weeks. This period of time was by far one of the most trying for my family, and if it were not for the selflessness and love of a very special teacher it would have been more difficult. Mrs. Siudak's compassion for my son was evident in the times that she visited (sometimes bringing the entire class), the times that she would come to the house to keep him up to speed in his lessons, the times that she held the family together, and the tireless hours she spent pushing his wheelchair and helping him to stand on his own again. I have never met a teacher with the love and devotion to students that this woman has demonstrated, and I am grateful that she has been part of our lives.
